Current Passions & Projects
For my Dissertation Proposal, It was important to me to consider how we protect and conserve the environment for future generations. As an aspiring illustrator and a mother, I wanted to focus on the state of precarity through a child's perspective. The reading list below covers a range of views from inequality to existential crisis. I hope through my research to highlight potential gaps in the current market of children's literature.

I am currently researching various children’s books with illustrations concerning the pedagogy of ecological issues and the environment. Key texts that are a combination of classics and contemporary children’s literature; Dr Seuss (Horton Hears A Who, 1954; The Lorax, 1971), Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake (BFG, 1982) and Chelsea Clinton (Don’t Let Them Disappear, 2019); Jane Goodall (Pangolina, 2021); and Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara (Earth Stories, 2019).

Who am I? & How did I get Here?
As a budding outdoor enthusiast, I find inspiration for my creations from; travelling, hiking, cycling, muddy adventures, climbing trees, wandering in nature, finding treasures on beaches, reading, and visiting museums/galleries. Immersive exhibitions/experiences. I enjoy the quirky alternative perspective to life, I appreciate the art movement Surrealism and poets such as Edward Lear. Wordplay and alternative thinking feature heavily in my work.
